Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

If your tires have worn unevenly, they can totally fake alignment issues.

I sure hope it's that. My two fronts are in really bad shape and they are very old. The compound has gone hard too so they don't have much grip. Gonna order those tires and have someone put them on soon. Might keep the steelies on for a week or so until I can replace them.

Anyone know how other than what I posted to make more power in a 2.3t Saab 9-5? Also I'd imagine if be able to add an intercooler (do they even have one stock?) or a bov? I'd really like to make more turbo noises. If I get this that is

I believe you can get chipped ECUs or have yours reprogrammed. They do have intercoolers stock. They are just well-hidden. ;)

I believe they use MAP sensors, not MAF, so you can just remove the recirculating hose from the BOV and have it vent to atmo. (but remember to block the hole in the pre-turbo intake pipe).

By just swapping the ECU in my Golf, it will go from 150hp to about 210hp. ;) (soon...)

I prefer the recirculating wastegates. And i'd suggest researching wastegates on 9-5 2.3's yourself just so there aren't any complications.

I could read up on it too.. But as i've lived all my life in or near trollhättan.. Saabs bore me to tears.

They brought it back from death. Kind of ok with it. (Unlike with a certain EVO 2)

Remove the god awful front end camber and i'd even say that it is done very well.

They even chromed the valve cover of the 1J to make it look right. Which makes that swap a bit more ok as well.

DSC_3274-Edit1-1200x800.jpg

The driver needs a racing suit made out of tweed though.

Some slightly less stiff suspension (And more ride height) + smaller wheels and bigger tyres and i'd be happy to daily it.

A turnkey e-type isn't bad at all.

i mean you gotta remember the car was built for drift, so it probably has to follow certain rules, like rim size and so forth, so it probably doesn't have daily driving in mind,.

Could be a good daily though.

I doubt there is rim size rules for drifting.

Personally i'd rather take that car to a hillclimb event. It would just look soo incredibly right at a bergrennen event

The T7 ECU will allegedly not tolerate any loss of any air to atmosphere. And that will allegedly trigger a CEL

i think if its not an Aero model you can get a used Aero ECU and instant power gains ... if you have a TD04 turbo in your 2.3T that is... if not ... swap the turbos and their cooler line banjo bolts (the GT17 and TD04 have different size banjo bolts) and poof ... that + the ECU should be instant power gain xD

also i think only the Aero ones came with an intercooler?

as i said .. i had looked this up already .... have forgotten most of it by now

Ok it's official, Matt isn't coming to AutoX tomorrow. :( so I put the steelies with the good tires on the Miata today. And oh my goodness my "alignment" issue where the car pulled to the left is gone! Wheel is perfectly straight going straight. To add to that, the 15" wheels with the bigger sidewalls are more comfortable than the 16's lol

so what's wrong with my daily wheels though? Is it the wheels or the tires? I didn't know tires could fake an alignment issue.

Also people who wanted to know what our shop looked like and the toolbox size, I got a pic of it.

Yeah, tires can cause issues like this, especially if they're different tires

I know it's a pain to do, but I think you should do it. It'll make more of a difference than you think. They're not just there to keep you from bottoming out, the Miata suspension design uses them as part of the spring rate
