Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 100k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

26 minutes ago, Drak3 said:

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Damn that's a shame. I want to have a picture frame with a $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, and $500, and a $1,000 if they actually made those in my office when I have my own house, all in a line. I think that'd be cool.

they also made a $100k bill and a $10k bill. Again, both very small amounts and only a short time period

I would have one built just for that.

Heh,

I am no stranger to repair bills on an Italian exotic (I've own many Alfas, Lancias, Abarths, Fiats and Maseratis and my current project Ferrari) but the sorting out of a grey-market Delta scares the crap out of me. I suspect that car will go north of 40k just at auction, plus another ~20k in repairs...IF it can be at all. Read some of the comments, the seller seems to be hiding something about the rust and or engine rebuild. That engine detonates under load and it'll eat the entire front end.

yeah, more a joke than anything...

Oof sorry you lost your daily so soon. Also glad your ok

not a bad choice. Still more comfortable than dailying a Miata lol

I'm not all that ok... no broken bones or anything, but the crash messed me up pretty good... it happened on friday and I'm still sore

thats a bit of an understatement... night and day doesn't quite describe the comfort level between my last mustang and my current miata... haha

not really my cup of tea...  if I was to get something this big, it'd be a truck... and if I was to get a truck, it'd be a Tacoma, and if I could afford a Tacoma (want relatively newish with relatively lowish miles), I could easily afford a Mustang, and then I'd definitely get a mustang... or maybe camaro

IIRC those were never issued to individuals though; they were a way of banks to do guaranteed trading before cashiers checks were really a thing.

But yeah, all depends on what you are looking for. I was pointing out there are a lot more interesting cars than a 40k mustang...

I was in a 55mph T-Bone collision in my 92 alfa spyder...walked away with a broken fingernail. Old doesn't mean unsafe.

getting hit is very situational. lot of small things that can make a big difference to the final outcome.

But in general newer cars are safer than old ones.

Doesn't stop me from buying old cars. I drive a miata for peat sakes. But I'm not afraid to admit you have much better odds of surviving a collision in a newer car

even then, could be worse like a motorcycle. Getting hit on one of those..oof. lots that can go wrong there lol

Lol Don't get me wrong I love classic cars too but the reality is most of them are not that fun to drive an can be compared to bucket of bolts. Really nice looking bolts that stole nostalgia in people who were alive when they were new. Lots of cars that are a decent drive that are more interesting too if you want the uniqueness and a decent drive as well.

You took what I said out of context you quoted "not that fun to drive" what I said was "most of them arent fun to drive". I see what you did there 😏
