Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 100k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

I did it twice today. One didn't shake loose until I hit the rumble strip passing someone on a 2 lane highway.

Rumble strips for sure are very useful for clearing tires of junk or helping shake junk out of places it shouldn’t be

when I leave work I’ll sometimes hit them intentionally to clear rocks out of the tread

Better than a hanging leaf. That truck would have been sitting on the axle lol.

exactly, 4hrs drive is halfway across the country

thats far

4hrs for you is probs like half a state

not as far 😂

4 hours of driving directly south barely gets me to the border of my state, if the traffic is favorable.

Reminds me of this

Front section of the diff case sheered off, along with the pinion and part of the driveshaft. Ironically, it was a Ford 9".

The only thing holding that leaf spring on there is a metal washer pushed up against the broken bit and the non broken bit. If it hits a pothole at an awkward angle its byebye axle

Curses! I was so busy I didn't check the forums after I started driving, sorry bud.

I was in Shifnal, just outside Telford for some body panels... Then went up to Stoke-on-Trent for a set of wheels... And then down via Leicester pick up some interior trim. T'was a good haul!

I call this look, "freshly pulled out of the Titanic" :PNotice the moss growing on the face... But hey the price was right, and by that I mean very small :D Not decided if I wanna refurbish, or sell on for a little cash. Especially as the bodyshop appointment for my car is looming

-Snip-

Ahh it's cool man I was busy myself anyway.

You've basically traveled through all of the midlands - Lovely place isn't it 😂  Did you go on the A5 or M6/M54?

How much were they if you don't mind me asking? I'd Just whack them on see what they look like, if you don't like them get them refurbished and then sell them you'll 100% make a profit on those my mate did the same when he tried BMW X5 wheels on his B8 A4.

Oddly enough the launch didn't cause that. Looks like shifting like a mongrel did.

took a look at the GS500E today as its warm enough in the air to not freeze to death, most of the ice is gone and i had some spare time. small drip of oil under it, paniced for a bit but later realized its come of the chain probably :P i lubed it way too much so now its dripping off when its standing around for a few months. Saw that the battery was still plugged in so hopefully there isnt any parasitic drains on the bike or thats going to be toast. Didnt bother starting it even if i should go do that really to move the oil about and all that stuff. Two or three more days of this bizarre weather and il try to get it inspected lol

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play MTGA & watch anime at 720p...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee! The Cassette Deck!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

It will always amaze me how the people that haul exotic cars for a living never seem to have proper equipment for it- and always seem to do shit like this.

These guys most likely weren't the people transporting the cars. They are the general third party contractor the autoshow hires to maintain all the vehicles on the show floors, including cleaning them and moving them around after media day. Aka not related in any way to the Porsche dealerships. I saw a fair number of people wearing those shirts setting up the various manufacturer booths too, mostly putting in the barriers and shifting cars around.
