Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 100k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Yeah, I dunno why you would build one though. One trim level. I heard rumors they were gonna make one off the LX trim level for this year, but I guess that didn't happen.

I do wish you could get the touring lights on the Si. They are a lot better than the standard projector beams.

Do you only get the base type r over there? We get that or the Type R GT which just has options youd actually want on it rather than nothing

Oh you silly brits and your sense of distance. lol.

The local Celica club has a few yearly meets and the one fellow comes from South Dakota to Utica IL. South Dakota is about 383 miles long (east to west) and 237 miles wide (north to south), from the nearest edge of the state it's 530 miles to the car meet which is roughly 8 hours.

I know, so to you a 4 hours drive is like 1/2 way across the country! Here an 11 hour drive is like 3-4 states over and you still need to get up and drive the other 11 hours the next day.

Well, technically yes. The only trim we get is based off the sport touring hatchback trim, with a few things missing.

Hi all. Thinking about importing a car sometime in the next year or so and have found 4 cars for sale that I like.

They are as follows:

1996 SAAB 9000 CSE (around £555/$710 US/$945 canadian)
1989 Ford Sierra XR6 (around £555/$710 US/$945 canadian)
1971 VW Beetle 1600 (around £830/$1065 US/$1415 canadian)
1984 Ford Cortina Pickup/Bakkie (around £665/$855 US/$1131 canadian)

I can provide pictures if needed.

I'm stuck on what to buy.

I don't necessarily need it to be a good daily (although that would be nice), I'm just looking for a project car that'll keep me occupied when I have nothing else to do.

Which one would you buy?

Thanks in advance :)

Saab all day

Curses! I was so busy I didn't check the forums after I started driving, sorry bud.

I was in Shifnal, just outside Telford for some body panels... Then went up to Stoke-on-Trent for a set of wheels... And then down via Leicester pick up some interior trim. T'was a good haul!

I call this look, "freshly pulled out of the Titanic" :PNotice the moss growing on the face... But hey the price was right, and by that I mean very small :D Not decided if I wanna refurbish, or sell on for a little cash. Especially as the bodyshop appointment for my car is looming
