Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 100k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

26 minutes ago, Drak3 said:

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Getting another CTR in a month or so. Wonder how bad we're gonna mark it up. We haven't had one since they first hit NA. Already got a ton of accessories ordered for it. My guess is 52k. Other dealers around here are listing them around 49k without accessories.

Meanwhile here in englandland you can pick brand new ones up for sub 30, they arent selling easily it seems

I've definitely seen more than I thought I would on the road. It's a good looking car, not a fan of the hatch body style on regular Civics though.

Must haves

Back seat ( for kids only )

I would prefigure a v8 but its not a must

needs to be good looking out of the box im not the tuner type

less the 50k miles

and needs to be equipped with blue tooth audio from factory.

My current car is a 2014 Lexus GS 350 fsport with 85k miles

might pick up another beater this year. the roads where my new house is are awful. ( @vinyldash303 that horrible road called evangeline thwy you drove on when you came by here, imagine that but 2x worse and literally your entire commute)

Maybe see if I can find cleanish corolla or something for $3500 or less. something I can beat the crap out of and it just keeps going (and I don't care). also it'd be more comfortable than a miata.. god my back

Thats the thing, they are built over there and imported to NA in very limited numbers. Its a feeding frenzy for dealers to get one, and dealers are only allowed one per year. Add that with demand... you get the crazy markups. Once one dealer in the area marks up, another will try to match it.

So yeah. Honda hasn't exactly handled the CTR well in NA. They should of built hatchbacks stateside.

how well do you like the Lexus? an ISF or GSF would be right there for you.

Lexus ISF

Lexus GSF

Chevrolet SS

if you want quite a bit cheaper, Pontiac G8

I love my GS and do Like the GSF but the styleing is a bit muted for that car.  I like the ISF but the newest ones I can find in my area are from 2009-2010

I was wishing that the LC500 would drop in price enough to afford  but they look to be holding strong in the 70k mark.  I do like the Looks of the RCF but have heard nothing but bad things about them from all the reviews.

my vote is chevy ss (as much as i'm not a fan of LS motors). understated looks, big rwd 4 door sedan, and there's an option for a manual if you want it.

why are dealers only allowed one per year? that makes no sense.

Oh jeesus. I'm pretty sure that road is part of what contributed to my shocks feeling worn out already.

Next road trip will be in a Tahoe with some King coilovers on it specifically so they're not completely fuckered going down there.

This is my daily driver and 75% of the time I sit in bumper to bumper traffic so I do not really want a manual.
