Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

I've had my 1997 R33 Skyline GTS-T in storage since 2010.

It has 140000km (87000 miles) on it. Its a 2.5L Turbo - this is the Series 2 facelift.

Decided it's about time I get it road worthy again.

I just this week got the last of the new parts to get it back on the road.

Driftworks V2 HICAS Eliminator

Driftworks V2 Camber Arms (front and rear)

Driftworks V2 Lower Control Arms

Driftworks V2 Rear Traction Rods

Driftworks V2 Rear Toe Rods

Drfitworks V2 Front Tension Arms

Tein Flex Z Coilovers (replace the older Teins)

Exedy Heavy Duty Clutch

M-Spec Side Skirts

M-Spec End caps

M-Spec Front bumper lip

R33 OEM GT-R Boot lid & spoiler

Splitfire Coilpacks

I've sanded down the body parts getting them ready for paint & fitting.

The car will be going into the shop to have a full fluid flush, all the belts changed, water pump, thermostat, etc...and all the arms changed over, new clutch and an alignment. Then into compliance to put it back on the road.

After that it will be going into panel and paint to fix the dent in the side and get a full respray.

I also have my new daily driver which I just removed all the import & compliance stickers from.

Its a 2008 V36 Skyline S 350GT. In the US I think you call this a Infiniti G35 ('08 facelift).

Sports model with black leather & fabric interior. has 56000km (34000 miles)

Going to get some Plastidip & Glossifier this week to do a chrome delete on the trim, and I need to get the lights tinted and carbon vinyl wrap the silver dash/door trim inside...it really sucks how reflective it is in the sun and it looks horrible imo.

Cheers bud :)

The V36 I would love to do a facelift conversion on it to a 2010-2014 (sharper lights and fog lights moved to bottom of the bumper) but having looked into it, really cant justify the $3000 + paint to do it right now with all the work going on with my R33.

Import laws are fairly relaxed here. Generally as long as it passes emissions, you can bring it in. We dont have many restrictions either on what you can get an engineering cert for. I haven't really seen a car that you cant import...JDM, Euro, China, America/Australian..

It used to be parked outside, across my friends Nissan S14 Silvia. Someone tried to steal it, and because its an RB30DET with a screamer pipe and straight stainless exhaust, we heard it the moment it fired up. Came running out, the guy freaked out and reversed it straight back into the R33m luckily he didnt get away with either car. Pulled most of it out, theres only a very slight dent in it now (but since the car is in a storage lockup unit I don't have a pic of it after that right now), but ill have the rest of it sorted out along with a few other imperfections when I get it resprayed.

That is a nice R33, sad about what happened to it.
Also its nice to see people enjoy the what i think is least liked of Skyline generations

would look nicer with a GT-R kit on it imo

Because i think not only have you got a larger ring gear, the casing design also allows for a larger internal volume.

In theroy its stronger but I’ve heard about more blown tundra rear ends than I have Tahoe/silverado/yukon/suburban/sierra/camaro rear ends.

But in theroy it is a stronger design. The beefcake Danas in medium and heavy duty stuff use it.

Agreed, the R33 doesn't deserve the hate it gets.

I don't understand why people dislike the R33. Is it just down to the fact that it's one of the least popular generations of Skyline (if not the least popular)?

Probably moreso it's the middle child of the Skylines people care for.

I always thought the R33 was a better looking car in general than the R32, especially non-GT-R variants.

I've personally never been crazy on them. But I'm also not too crazy on GTRs, I'd rather have a Skyline Sedan with a GTR front end

its simple logic... its not the original (R32, yes I know its not the "original", but its the original godzilla), and its not the final and best version (R34)... therefore its the least liked... like 3% less liked than the next one... that doens't mean its disliked... I've never seen anyone that likes the R32 and R34 look at an R33 and go ew...

I'd like to do a GT-R front end, but it would need a new bonnet, series 1 / GT-R headlights, GT-R front fenders and a GT-R bumper....its not easy to find all those in decent quality, and not cheap hence doing the M-Spec lip in the mean time. I'll be focusing on more engine related work before I worry about that (want to high flow the turbo, front mount, front facing plenum, ecu, etc...)
