Out of these,which generation of the Metro/100 would you buy if these were the only cars you could afford? 

 

1) Austin Metro MK1/MK2 (1980-1990)

 

2) Rover Metro/Rover 100 (1990-1994)

 

3) Rover 100 (1994-1998) 

 

Personally I'd have to choose the MK3 1990-1994 generation. This generation came with the much needed Rover K-Series engine upgrade along with a 5-speed transmission, it kept the 'Metro' name (at least in the UK) and I think it looks better than the 94-98 Rover 100.

I know everybody loves a good jet flyby, and I'm one myself, but not gonna lie a low-pass by a 787 is pretty damn impressive of a sight  especially given the low-altitude performance window of the Dreamliner is pretty high in terms of maneuverability.

yea just like the first gen mazda mpv as well. come to think of it, they were kinda similar. rwd, available in manual, and very 90s lookin lol. mpv is just front engine and previa is rear engined.

Okay so if I had to choose one from that list... I'd say the 80's Austin Metro with some 'light' modification

With the Z3's they're more premium focused; most have electric seats, they're heavier, and alot seem to have the 1.9L. The MX5 is simpler, lighter, and more focused. My mate had one with a short shifter on the 6spd box and it felt lovely. It had a factory lsd, and once he got a catback exhaust on there, it didn't want for much more to be real fun.

 

Yep we did supply three of them, one had been back to RallyArt and had some extra trick bits. We found most of the performance stuff was more trouble than it was worth, also a few people I knew got burnt in the late 90s with stolen cars being rung over here. As for the z3 I only have time for the 2.8 or the 3.0 and of coarse the M the rest are just so slowwww a proper sheep in wolfs clothing. The 2.8 comes with a factory lsd  BTW.

The metro GTA was a cool little car, sold a few of those back in the day.

I tried using the picture of my car from the other day as an April Fools, and said it was on the flatbed truck to be scrapped...my love for that car is too well known, because that ruse didn't last very long at all  

A few years back I put more effort into writing out a proper sale advert for my last car...that was so effective it was frustrating, I had a shitload of genuine enquiries about it

imo protege seems like the only decision out of that entire list. and my family has 2 of those cars on that list.
