If you have not a clue what to do with the money -> straight into retirement fund(s).

 

you could yolo it on some investment I guess the risk is quite low since it was given to you. Up to you tho. Lot of ppl doing that tho so the contrarian in me says be careful.

The money has to be in W-2 form though for you to use retirement accounts right? 

 

I don't think you could use things like a stimulus check for a Roth IRA, for example.

You probably could if its clean. People love those things. I don't, 2nd worst gen civic.

 

I thought about that, but meeh. I will probably blow it on something stupid. If I had room at my place I'd be hunting for old bimmers.

Mine is starting to collect dust, but MLB the show comes out next month and all my coworkers are gonna be playing it on xbox.

I like all sorts, but I want just a e39 or e46 manual. Nothing special, but an enjoyable NA car to throw around some corners and rev out without getting in too much trouble.

Yeah, the E46 manuals are really fun. I don't feel like my car is limited horsepower wise on real twisty roads, but on the freeway it is a bit lacking.

 

Honestly an E39 540i with a six-speed would be a great complement to my E46.

After driving a newer Camaro 2SS, I realized that anything over 300hp in a car is gonna mean lots of tickets. Those old BMWs aren't bad to work on anymore after working on modern cars lol.

Yeah, but my E46 has a rated horsepower number of 181, which has probably degraded in the twenty years since it was made.

Get an E39 540i with a 6 speed. You *probably* won't regret it. If you want to go 6 cylinder, anything's good really. E34 535i's are dumb reliable, but obviously, it's an older platform and you know the rest.

i'm thinking on buying a car in poland, walking evreywhere in town is a pain in the fuckin ASSS, of course i'm not there right now and fucking gas costs a fortune, so i need gas efficient car, i've been just scrolling through diesel cars for less than 500 euros~2k zloty in good condition.

EDIT: and maybe i can actually get cheaper bmw parts

So I got my car inspected today from a garage I've never personally delt with. 

 

Is it typical for inspectors to take test drives of their vehicles? I ask because I've gotten an inspection from a Valvoline before and they've never test drove the car (maybe they're just lazy about checking the bushings and stuff) but..... Its just weird that the guy doing the drive hit 70mph on a 45.... And then he approached me later and asked me "Hey I see what you got going on with your car, I myself have a hotrod. Your CAT looks a lot smaller than normal.... Is it..."

 

No one ever really notices the dash cam above their head that also has GPS speed enabled....

Some shops require test drives for anything relating to the brakes/suspension, and I suppose that an inspection requires that. I would take the vid and show the manager. That shits unacceptable and makes me irate when people in the trade do shit like that.

Test drives are normal. Doing 70 in a 45 like that for an plate sticker inspection is not normal.

I can say that when I worked at a dealership if a car needed to be driven to reset the readiness monitors the inspect would reset it then drive it a with a device plugged into it. That's about all I know not sure why they went that fast though.
