Pure guess, but I think SSL certificate of that browser is too old and site sees it as security risk. So you need newer OS to browse forums on Chrome. If this is about specs not being enough for modern OS, Linux is one solution. Mint and Ubuntu should work fine.

Well since I share the computer with others I don't know if it's going to be a good option

yeah opera is bloated af now with animations and junk, didn't knew it was that slow tho

seamonkey is basically a plain window with an address bar and some buttons, it supports firefox addons, and there's a firefox addon that allows you to install chrome addons

full xp support, the devs still care about the xp users and roll updates monthly

try installing 7 with those specs

unless... it might be possible, Windows 7 Starter man... that could work, I'm running it on my NAS with 1GB memory and seamonkey too, it's enough to browse the internet and have updates

{well 2 things: 1) Win7 would be slow AF on it.

                     2) Where the F would I find a non-pirated official version of Win7 in 2018?}

Well, I was just saying it WOULD work, that Celeron is just a cut down version of Conroe Core 2 Duo with just one core and a bit less cache.

I really wouldn't wanna be running Windows XP in 2018, unless you live in a 3rd world country then you have no choice. If you have the money, I would suggest getting a newer system. Even a second hand first gen i3 machine for 60 Dollars will run Windows 10 just fine.

Sorry, Chrome uses the Windows crypto libraries, which for windows XP are insecure, so Chrome and IE on Win XP can't be used with this site (or quite a lot of others I believe). Chrome on XP isn't supported by Google any more either.

Firefox and other derivatives (such as Seamonkey) should work (though Firefox definitely isn't supported on XP, and I doubt that others are either).
