Reason for a Ryzen build just before Ryzen 2000 premieres next month? I got everything cheap, used off eBay except the storage. The 1600X was used for just 2 months as a server CPU (so it sat idle the whole time) and was purchased for $140 shipped. The RAM was brand new in packaging being sold because he apparently bought the wrong RAM - $120 shipped. Then I scored the Motherboard from an eBay 3rd party re-seller who sells the refurbished AB350's for just $60 shipped. The best deal of all though was the GPU. I found a guy on eBay who had just upgraded to a GTX 1080 for better VR performance, and had no idea of the typical premiums on GPUs right now, so I scored the MSI GTX 980 for just $225 shipped. ONLY the storage was purchased new of NewEgg, nobody was offering decent deals on eBay anyways. So for a grand total spent of $805, I got a new CPU, Mobo, RAM, GPU, NVME Drive, and SSD Drive.

The idea behind the budget? Save on costs and have a decent gaming maching that does everything quite well until Zen 2+/3 launches in 2020 with 7nm+ based CPUs. THEN I will build the ULTIMATE Ryzen PC. Planning on either the Ryzen 4700X or Threadripper 4920X or 4950X, Custom Water Looping, Twin GPUs, High end X670 or X699 MoBo and OC an all components. Planned budget for 2020 will be somewhere in the ballpark of $5000 USD.
