Blew my Laptop up

I just bricked my trusty work laptop.  I need a new one asap.  I am not by any stretch of the imagination a massive computer gamer.  Used to be but that was back in the day.  What I am looking for is more a work computer that can do light gaming when I need it to.  My budget is $1000.00.  I use the computer for mostly EXCEL and 3d models on Navisworks for my job.  I think 16 GB RAM would do me.  I would like a SSD to boot the system off of to make it snappier.  Can some one help me sort thru everything on the web and give me some options to choose from?  Thank you in advance.

the entry level gaming laptops with like 1050's maybe a 1050ti should be in that price range, I know we got one for a client off Newegg at that priceoint.
