Lenovo yoga 720 fan noise

Hello!

I've had this lenovo yoga 720 for about 8 months now, but during christmas this thing started behaving really strange.

Long story short, it uses a BUNCH of RAM in idle mode, and it has CPU spikes over 80% for no apparent reason, all which makes my fan noise go through the roof. I can't even open a second tab on chrome without it going full vacuum mode on me. Funny thing is I've never experienced any temperatures over 50 C. It's even embarrasing to use this thing during class.

Another thing that might be connected or perhaps someone could have an input on might be why streaming content (on youtube) on 720p makes the cpu usage to above 80%? 480p is barely getting me over 30%. With the fan being as loud as it is, I have to wear headphones to watch it! Wierdly, it does not do this on Netflix for 1080p or other streaming sites.

The things I've tried to do are;

1. Chaning the bios settings for the thermal control from "performance" to "silent" which does take it down a notch, but only 10% of what I would like it to do.

2. Installed tab suspender extension for chrome and removed old bloated ones.

I've attached a picture of what the idle system looks like.

Thanks in advance!

I'm gonna try opening up the chassi to see if I can clean it!

A clean install was made just two weeks ago, seems strange that it would have any effect.
