I am actively working on it, but it appears to be a much deeper issue than I thought. Some changes have been made to try and mitigate the problem though, and it should be working better at the moment.

Globally distributed servers wouldn't have much impact on page load time, and aren't feasible for sites like this where there are a lot of writes as well as reads. All of the static resources are globally distributed to optimise page load time.

What do you get if you run 

ping linustechtips.com

in your command prompt or terminal?
