Macbook Pro not starting

FockeSterben

About 4 Moths ago my laptop's battery started swallowing up. I didn't put a lot of notice on that and once the battery was unusable left it to rest on top of a book self for nearly 3 months. Recently I got time and opened it up. I removed battery safely and Trackpad as well ( Battery broke it to half by expanding. I removed HDD as well to keep it for external use on other machines. MacBook itself looks totally fine. The motherboard is like new, No scratches and etc. I wanted to try out if this Mac is still usable and is it worth to fix it by buying a new battery and a new trackpad.  I just plugged it in and Plugin light is working as intended but pressing power button won't start it.  After waiting for another 10 min it is still not starting up. What could be the problem?

After putting HDD back and rechecking all connections for 40 times there is still no response.

Could battery miss be a reason for Macbook not starting.
