'Step One' Build

Lukard

Hey guys.

Never had much experience with building rigs, and now I decided to build one myself.

The specs are:

Case: Zalman Z9 Plus Black

PSU: Chieftec APS-750C

MB: Gigabyte GA-Z77X-DH3

Proc: Core i5 3570K + Cooler Master V8

RAM: 16GB Kingston HyperX 1600

Video: Asus 660-Ti 2GB (GTX660TI-DC2T)

SSD: OCZ Vector 256G

Storage: 2 Tb Seagate Barracuda (ST2000DM001)

System disk: PCI-E OCZ RevoDrive 50 GB (1 gen I belive)

Case fans: Noctua NF-S12B FLX x2

This is what I managed to achieve:

(sorry for pics quality)

Pretty good, yeah? Nah.

After browsing Build Logs section I realized that I have to improve on my building. Cable management that is.

Ver. 2 rebuild:

Better now, but then I decided to double it: -)

That’s it. I liked this experience and already thinking about improving looks of my system.

Next steps:

1. To get nicer case. What do you think about Define R4? (cable management, silence)

2. Better PSU to improve noise and looks, thinking about Corsair AX (sleeved black cables, noise level)

Deffenetly new cables would look great, have you thought about getting one of those closed loop cooling systems? I have experience with a few, it does limit some what your case options but they deliver great and easy cooling, the Define R 4 was on my list of possible cases and i think it looks great.
