Noctua NH-D15 or Corsair H100i V2 for Overclocking?

babadoctor

I want to overclock my i7 8700k to the most that I can successfully. (like 5ghz)

Should I buy the NH-D15 or the h100i? I am not a big fan of the leaking issues that could occur with water cooling, and I don't know if I want to take a risk

I also don't want to do custom water cooling, it seems like a pain (and dangerous)

But the NH-D15 looks so ugly D:

my budget is 100$

is there anything that looks nicer than the NH-D15 and performs about the same?

OFF TOPIC: I suggest every poll from now on to have "**CK EA" option instead of "Other"

Dark Rock Pro 4

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

You might want to get it delidded if you plan to run that high for daily use

Otherwise HR-22 / Le Grand Macho

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

What case and ram are you using?

You haven't actually built the system yet? Do you have any parts already bought?

Are you planning a new system? If so, I'd suggest planning it as a whole in the New Builds and Planning subforum instead of segregating the discussion.

I'll make a new thread

Namely, if you don't have a GPU right now, you should be getting a Ryzen APU system, as it'll let you do some 1080p gaming without a dedicated GPU

Just post your budget and monitor resolution/refresh rate in the other thread, and any parts you already have
