There’s been one hiccup since it opened last year: Apple employees keep smacking into the glass.

Surrounding the Cupertino, California-based building are 45-foot tall curved panels of safety glass. Inside are work spaces, dubbed “pods,” also made with a lot of glass. Apple staff are often glued to the iPhones they helped popularize. That’s resulted in repeated cases of distracted employees walking into the panes, according to people familiar with the incidents. 

LMAO. Basically, the employees at the headquarters are on their phones a lot, even while walking. Because of this, they get distracted, and walk right into the panes of glass.

No reports of injuries. You would think that somebody would have been given a broken nose or something.

Not the first time.  The Apple store in Chicago has a fancy roof design ... which allows ice cones to fall on the heads of passers-by.  They have to rope off a large area at the side of the store in the winter.

According to Apple they only had to rope off the areas because the roof heating system wasn't working properly (but was presumably promptly fixed). Of course you can argue that it's a bad design if it needs help to accommodate snow, but that's kind of the nature of architecture.

Another case of not apple's fault if people in 2018 still haven't learned to walk while looking down on their phone without bumping into people on the street, crossing the street when the light is red, and hitting glass obstructions. This people should just get with the times and develop the skills of the modern age

This is the fault of both I think. Glass being a naturally transparent thing doesn't really bode well for anyone being used as a replacement to a physical wall. However it is equally the fault of the person for not looking where they are going if they are looking down at their phones.
