100c while playing

My CSGO frames have been around 90 on low settings. I have a gtx 1060 ans a i5 4690k. I didnt know what the problem was but then I checked my cpu temps, 90c-100c while playing. I have re applied thermal paste and made sure the cooler is on properly. While playing I put my hand next to the cooler to see if any hot air was coming out and it was cool air only (at 95c)

Can anybody help?

Make sure no dust is in the cpu fan, reapply new thermal paste as you did... and reseat CPU again...

If likly it's the CPU that's not mounted properly.

If thermal paste is applied properly, then the cooler isnt working. Get a new one.

The 4x7x series of CPUs are notorious for running hot, the 4x9x ones not so much.  If the cooler is a decent one and is seated properly it could be an issue between the die and the IHS, in which case only delidding will help.

I'm guessing it is just a terrible cooler. Get a new one, and if you want to be sure on the thermal paste, get Arctic Silver V thermal compound.

What cooler do you have on it now?

What temps you get idle? While those usually don't mean anything, normal idle temp vs high idle temps can tell if cooler is working as it should.
