But to me it doesn't matter. All I use it for is to right click and copy image. That always copies the native resolution anyways, so thats all I care about

Duck Duck Go, while a good search engine, IS inferior to Microsoft Bing image search. Seriously. Bing image search is basically the best image search engine out there. The granularity/options/filters, and the results themselves, are just better in most cases.

Duck Duck Go has the benefit of not logging you though - so if you value privacy, you're already using it.

But privacy was not part of the discussion, and is out of scope/context.

Also, seriously dude, don't call another forum member a shill. It's rude and uncalled for. @GoodBytes might have an unhealthy love for Microsoft (still love ya bro), but he's a respected member of the community, and he DOES point out times when Microsoft is doing something wrong.

Have you made any tests for this? Because when it comes to text search I found Bing to be vastly inferior to Google. Back when they did their BingItOn campaign I ran it several times using different phrases and I ended up picking Google about 80% of the times.

Judging by some sample searches I just made, it seems like Bing is inferior in terms of images too. At least for my type of searches:

Had to censor some in this one. Now I know why Bing is considered good for porn...

What I want to point out with this is that Bing only showed 1 single image that was official art, while Google showed at least 5.

I haven't tested it lately, no. But when I've used Bing image search, I always got relevant results, and the filters and granularity was very useful.

I know you can accomplish a lot of the same stuff via Google Image search but I found it more difficult to use if you wanted to do anything beyond the basics.

As for the actual results? Perhaps Google's raw results are better - I cannot say. It would be interesting to see someone do a comprehensive comparison, for sure.

I have to admit that Bing's UI is very nice and seems to offer some interesting options like the slideshow.

Can't say the filters seems impressive, but that might just be me not being used to filtering results.

It was meant more as a joke, since i have no evidence i cant claim anyone IS anything.

But ive never seen anyone in any domain promoting every technology of only 1 company with every opportunity it gets.

I'm a MS hater, or anyone thats against digital privacy. And by hate i mean oppose his/her/their BS technologies, not hate= i want to punch you.

So back to topic i would never use bing even it it were any better than duckduck, and i dont recommend it.

So why not gain more by both not being tracked, same quality or better search engine as bing and promote it by using it and share with others, the more the better.

Wow this is more stupid than I have words to explain.  This literally accomplishes nothing except making ordinary use more inconvenient.  Now instead of just getting the image, you have to go to the page and find it manually.  What on earth were they thinking!?  Companies spend untold sums on making their products easier to use every year, and here they go and do the opposite for literally no reason.

What on earth were they thinking? Probably something along the lines of "oh shit we are being threatened with a lawsuit and must do something".

I doubt they make their products more difficult to use on purpose, because it doesn't benefit them in any way. It would benefit Getty and other websites greatly if people were forced to visit their websites.

But as far as I can see what they've done makes no difference in the original complaint that people were able to steal images through google.  After all it's not like the search can break through the pay wall, it's just finding things anyone could get to on their own.  And making it harder to download that image once you've found it accomplishes nothing if you can still download it.

Maybe that works for ones where the full res is at or below the resolution it will display in that window but otherwise no.

Man having to right click the image now is more annoying than I thought it would be. Google seems really good at removing features with each update

It definitely is type in 4k wallpaper and tell me when you save it it's not a 4k image, in fact try it with any resolution. It even tells you below the image what resolution it is it's also why when you click on a crazy high resolution image it starts of fuzzy then suddenly changes to being sharp. I've been saving images like this forever never did use the button. It's also the reason many images are watermarked on websites as they know that the image can just be snagged by google. It's always the source resolution the window has no bearing on the image size.

Oh you might be on to something actually... I did try it again, and it did actually work for some.  However for others it still does not.  Seems to be hit and miss
