SSD Slowly Filling Up After Every Boot

Go to solution Solved by vanished,

I would not bother running the tool unless you notice the 1 GB drop in disk space that you reported experiencing in the OP.  After all there's no need to see details if you know there's no change.

That's certainly a start, but it's not specific enough to really gauge what's eating up your space.

You should also reboot, and run the program again, multiple times, (taking screen shots between each reboot), to track and see if you can catch which part of the chart is growing in size and percentage.

That was only one side of the application, Disk Savvy does much more.

As long as it gives you details on specific files/folders that are big data hogs, then yeah - good.

Rebooting and tracking the progress should allow you to nail down exactly what is growing, and where it lives.

Yeah that's what we need to see.  It should reveal a certain folder getting ~1 GB larger, which assuming the tool gives you enough detail should lead you right to the file responsible, and that should tell us what is causing it or at least point us in the right direction.

Nothing particularly out of the ordinary there.

Does This PC or Disk Management show a significant increase? More than what we can account for here with Disk Savvy?

Maybe.

I think I will analyse the disk two more times instead of the original three times. Just to make sure.

Keep an eye on it over the next week or two. If you notice an increase, immediately run a utility to check.

Looking at Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application

Almost every event is an error under the application tab.

Could be.

Yeah. Just did it to see if Windows was accurately measuring SSD space.

Hey all,

I just wanted to say thanks for all the replies and support that I have experienced from all of you guys (this is getting real cringey). I greatly appreciate it.

For the past few boots now, my PC hasn't been adding that 1GB extension, and if it doesn't report any more odd changes like this, the thread will get abandoned. If there is another change in storage space that was not of me, I will report it here. But in the meantime, thanks again to everyone.
