Also, the highest end CPU on that list is probably the most well binned in that lineup.

Understood. I guess in this case I'll have to wait and see what the Intel sponsors say about the chips in this lineup once they're confirmed.

Why would we think it's a typo? Haven't Xeons had 18 core variants for a while now? Other than the architecture refresh is this anything new?

oh they finally for sale on newegg, they haven't been for quite a while. As for premade servers like the ones HPe, Dell etc. the way almost all companies will buy them for a massive list of benefits like warranty which they need and want. There is very few of them

yes but not in the Xeon D line which are BGA CPU's, the D-1587 was 16c

Still kind of crap when compared to LGA771 Xeons. Its not possible to get a 4GHz+ 24/7 OC.
