How to remote control to PCs over LAN without using RDP

grimreeper132

How do I connect to several computers to control them like RDP or teamviewer, I would use teamviewer but because the LAN is completely offline that is not a possibility unfortunately as it seams to need to connect to the internet, and I can't use RDP as some of the PCs I want to control do not have the correct windows version to be controlled, and some of the PCs I will be wanting to control probably won't all be windows it is likely several will be linux so it would be handy if I can control them as well. Any suggestions??? (also it needs to be be free)

If TeamViewer isn't working, you can try some other programs. Sites like LifeWire have lists of some that you can try.

You can also look to see if you can find a registry edit/hook that enables RDP on non-pro versions of Windows. I had my Windows 10 Home PC working with RDP before one of the big updates through a registry edit I found online. The update broke it, but I haven't looked for a new one since then as TeamViewer has been working just fine for me since then.

VNC is a popular Go-to app, but beware of the security implications of running unencrypted VNC.  There are ways to encrypt VNC.

RDP is much better on supported OS due to native UI handling, it feels snappier.

Yea I have team viewer working now, and the LAN is completely offline so it shouldn't matter how well it's encrypted as only I have access to the LAN (I have disabled wireless connections so it is only wired connections and they aren't easy to get into them to see the data
