Any recommendations for what cooler to strap on my R9 290?

Bananasplit_00

Looking for a new air cooler for my newly acquired R9 290 because I can't stick it somewhere I can't hear it sadly. It's worse than I thought, need to keep it maxed out to have it under 80C too and that's really really loud. Had good experience with Accelero before but I'd like to hear some other options too. Only air coolers. Thanks for any suggestions!

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

If you're only going for air coolers, then you really only have one option -- the Accelero

However, I'd really recommend a Kraken G12 + a 120mm AIO, because that will be significantly cooler and nearly silent.

At that point he’s almost better off getting a new card.

Arctic accelero, they make a 290 specific one that's very good.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

120mm AIOs don't have the same reliability and longevity as an air cooler, not getting a €50 cooler i need to replace in 2-3 years. Heatsinks don't fail.

Oh? Have I missed that one then? I thought there was only a 280x specific one because of the die height thing.

Yah I had a Twin Turbo 3 and it was dead silent even at full blast and kept it under 51c at all times, its pretty darn huge with the backplate though, took up 4 slots lol

I actually had an accellero 3 on a 290X which was overclocked to 1200MHz core. Its VRM temps never went past 70C and its core never went past 65C while still being relatively silent :P

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...
