2.35:1 vs 16:9

Roshan Jay
Go to solution Solved by Guest,

21:9 rules! (as long as it's at least a 29" monitor) you can have two full sized A4 documents side by side, and keep their 1:1 size!

16:10 represent!

21:9 > 16:9 unless you need dedicated monitors for a thing instead of just having it in a window

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

I love 16:10 too

have it on my laptop, it feels so different to 16:9 while using it, a huge difference, even though it looks like it's not a huge difference

You guys are only focusing games I suppose! I'm also playing games but my main concern is video editing & movies. 2.35:1 is my best choice.

xD@Roshan Jay why is this the best answer when most people said they prefer 16:10?

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

who cares if the god damn program takes up some space for the toolbar and then windows takes up some space for the task bar and don't forget you really do need the shit on the side, and the fancy scroll bars, and also the program doesn't scale well, and you want to zoom in on one document to get more detail / easier to see!

4:3 is great for documents.

Because That's the only answer suits for me. Most people are looking from the gaming perspective. I play games too. But my main concern is video editing.

I actually really liked my experience with 16:10 back in the day, had a 1680x1050p monitor which was really good, actually replaced it for my current 21:9 one which is even better, if I had to say I'd put 16:9 right at the bottom as the worse ratio of the 3... such a shame it is the mainstream.

i got 21:9 and yes its awesome but have you seen the samsung 32:9? basically just 2 x 1080p panels side by sidde but damn games look amazing on it and since its basically half a 4k screen it should be fairly easy to drive as well.

It just seems funny to ask the question if you already know what you wanted to hear though xD

Yeah, some people just search for assurance that the choice they make is relevant. :)
