Laptop died, help?

Ddm5

I was trying to sort flash out on my Ubuntu based laptop, I turned away for a moment and the laptop died, completely, it won't turn on, it won't charge, it won't do shit. After opening the bottom of the laptop I found the screw that was rattling around inside, It was wedged next to the fan, and power. Could this have shorted the laptop out?

Update: Looks like my charger took the brunt of the short out and the charger is dead, managed to ghetto charge my laptop and it booted directly into Ubuntu.

Second upate: No idea what the hell is causing the random shut offs, it happened again when it magically worked on the normal charger.
