Recommendation

Hello, I need help with my new laptop. The thing is that I'm about to start University and I don't have a laptop. I would use a laptop mostly for typing and regular stuff (it's law school) and I was thinking of getting a Pixelbook. Do you guys have any recommendations about it?

Something with Windows or macOS chrome OS won't really cut it for College/University work. Classes like English require Word.

Exactly what @unkn0wn1 said, windows is a huge help, just because its so universal.

I almost got a cheap macbook air for school work but seeing it now, I'd be screwed because theres some programs profs use that require windows and other programs like excel have different layouts, so its harder to follow along.

Yea some of my old classes required windows, like intro to Microsoft office, the prof and book both said that macs won't work. English I was required to set things up in word that google docs just can't do( things like specific page margins and what not.).

If your looking for the best trying experience either a Thinkpad T430 or T420 would a perfect. They are still very powerful machines as they both support 3840QM's and 3940XM CPU's. The T420 has a better keyboard but lacks USB 3.0 whereas the T430 has USB 3.0 but can also be easily configured to use the legendary XX20 series keyboard.

They are the perfect budget machine for college IMO.

I don't have any requirements, I just need something for normal usage. I can make an effort to get something a little bit more expensive but my budget is not much.

If you don't mind used/refurbished then go for the Thinkpads mentioned above, if you need a budget laptop, go for Acer Aspire 5 or Asus Vivobook with 8250U CPU
