LTX 2018 Discussion Thread

CPotter

if stage had more lights where you guys are presenting it'd look nice, the last one looked like you were presenting from a cave while doing unboxings & stuff , faint audible music on the background would be nice , it felt too hollow last time, please do that fan meetup in the waiting queue & do light interviews on them on whereabouts & interests and more games .

Details separate people.

How about a video editing competition leading up to the even with those at the event voting on the winners. Maybe LTT posts some footage that never got made into videos and challenges us to come up with the best edit/compilation/whatever else we can imaging type of thing.

(Would also be a good way to scope out hiring prospects for the future :P

Live Rig modding competition

Had so many ideas after last years but can't remember any lol

Live modding is the best!

Hey guys!

We're planning another LTX event for this year, and I wanted to ask you all what you'd like to see at the event.

Open to all feedback and suggestions, even if you didn't go last year. :D

Will it be live streamed online?

Later this month we're going to announce the event, but the date SHOULD be July 14th, 2018.

Just saw the event posted on facebook, although nothing on twitter.

As feared, flight pricing around then isn't fun. It costs, like, a GPU! And to get that pricing I'll have to stay in the area for a while, or pay more if I'm more selective on flights.

How easy is it to cross the border from Seattle to Vancouver? For some reason I can get a flight to Seattle for half the cost of Vancouver... of course trade off will mean more travel... so both in one trip to get extra value.

Main system: i9-7980XE, Asus X299 TUF mark 2, Noctua D15, Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200 3x 16GB 2R, RTX 3070, NZXT E850, GameMax Abyss, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, Acer Predator XB241YU 24" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync + HP LP2475w 24" 1200p 60Hz wide gamut
Gaming laptop: Lenovo Legion 5, 5800H, RTX 3070, Kingston DDR4 3200C22 2x16GB 2Rx8, Kingston Fury Renegade 1TB + Crucial P1 1TB SSD, 165 Hz IPS 1080p G-Sync Compatible

We haven't officially announced it - meant to keep the Facebook private but that didn't happen. Unfortunately, this is the only time in Summer that we can put on the event, plus people are out of school and this was the best date the venue had available.

It's easy to get across the border from Seattle into Canada though, I usually cross the border to fly when I travel around the US.

Official announcement coming in a few weeks. :D

@CPotter on the ticket website that was on Facebook, could I get the 2 different tickets. Like the 2nd tier for me with the shirt, lanyard, ect. And a normal one for my dad since he doesn't need a shirt or lanyard

Also, do you think I would be able to get my ifixit kit on the plane

We don't have this set up properly yet, but yes you should be able to purchase multiple tickets at once. :)

I don't see you having an issue bringing your iFixit kit, I'd probably bring it in my checked luggage though.

Better stage/screen area :)

Oh, and door prize tickets that don't run out midday. Was kind of cheesed that I was ineligible for door prizes solely because I wasn't the first rush of people that made it into the event.

More local community-based groups, like Vancouver Hack Space, The Hackery, UBC eSports, etc etc.

Can we make a subforum for this? This thread gets easily lost in the main forum.
