G-sync vs IPS?

MAMAs_b0y

I'm looking at getting a new monitor and I'm torn between these two:

NX-EDG27

https://www.amazon.com/Nixeus-27-Inch-FreeSync-Certified-Range/dp/B071G6MYMW/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1516712106&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=144hz%2Bmonitor%2B1440p&th=1

XB271HU

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N11QIYW/ref=psdc_1292115011_t2_B071G6MYMW?th=1

It mostly comes down to the first being IPS but the second has G-sync (I'm running nvidia hardware). With my current monitors, one is ips and the other is tn. And seeing how much better my ips monitor looks would make me want to get the NX-EDG27. Where as g-sync I've never experienced, so I'm not sure if its worth giving up IPS for, also with the games I play I'll always been getting high fps so does g-sync matter as much at that point? Thanks

If you're not finding yourself getting annoyed with screen tearing (which actually is less noticable att higher framerate imo) then IPS might just be worth it over G-Sync. If it's for purely gaming I would still take the TN + G-Sync though, but it's basically personal preference.

If you're into editing, photography or just CRAVE them sweet colors then IPS it is, but I would still rather have a smother gaming experience than somewhat better coloraccuracy :)

But again; Basically all about personal preference.

Honestly, if you are spending $450 already, just get the AOC AG271QG for $499 and you get both IPS and G-Sync.

That monitor is selling between $599-$799. Not even close to $450.

I7-7700k@5.1ghz + 1080ti @ 2050mhz + 32gbs Ram + 2TB SSD = CSGO

i7-6700k@4.9ghz + 980ti @ 1501mhz + 16gbs Ram + 1 TB SSD = Backup

i7-3770k@4.8ghz + 680 4gb + 32gbs Ram + 500gb SSD = Retired/Office work
