When will 1440p be the standard? (Available for $100-200 USD)

Personally, I think it will happen in the next 3 years. There are already a fair amount of sub-$300 1440p monitors, and I can't think of a single display that was priced that low back when I got into PCs in 2013.

Well kinda  hard to tell tbh

I think that wall phones at 1440p will be a phone standard I have a feeling that for pcs and tvs they will go staright 4k and they kinda already are

Ex frequent user here, still check in here occasionally. I stopped being a weeb in 2018 lol

4K will be the standard before 1440p is.

Probably in the next 3 years. Once people get 1080p, they start looking for good looking effects before higher resolution. At the same time, making a mid range card, like the GTX 1060, display good looking graphics at 1440p 60fps is still kinda hard pushed.

 

I'd say next generation of cards should put 1440p somewhere good to go, unless something like Crysis 4 comes out and slay graphics cards like the Crysis did

I personally didn’t care for 1440p. If I were to make a resolution jump it would be 4K. I recently just went with 1080p144hz instead of 1440p

It won't. It'll go straight to 4k. It's an amazing resolution for gaming though.

1440p will never be a "standard" its only ever found in gaming monitors. there are no TVs that are 1440p they are all HD (720p) FHD (1080P) or UHD(4K)

 

they will never be as cheap up 1080p are now as they are niche. maybe when 8k becomes the standard you might find one for $100
