Safe temp to leave gtx 1080's at while mining?

I have 2 gtx 1080 armor msi and a 5930k. My Temps are staying around 84c. Is this safe to leave it running long term at those Temps? This is with the side cover off.

I'm getting the  temp reading from afterburner.

Those temps are fine, but I would put some high air-flow fans in front of the GPU blowing into their vicinity while all the other fans exhaust. Also, you may want to separate the GPUs by a slot or two, if you haven't done so.

Create a custom fan curve. 84 is a bit much. When mining zcash or ethereum in the afterburner set the power limit to 70-80 and then overclock the memory to the max. You get less power usage and higher hashes.

Toasty! - if this is a mining rig then I would get some extra cooling byt taking it ouit of chassis or at least fine tuning the setting by lowering the power limit some. It's probably fine, but I wouldn't have mine that hot personally as I'd want them to survive long term.

If it's a gaming rig, and you're only mining when not using your PC, then it's fine, no different than gaming for long sessions IMO.

84°C will eventually degrade your card over extended period of time.

It is not problem on its own, the card is fine runing at 84°C in games and such but if you intend to keep your card for longer than a 1-2years, it is not optimal to run the miner at 84°C for long periods of time.

Thanks for all the  tips. Here's a picture of  my setup. I have the  side cover off, and I'm going to put a fan up to it when I get home.

I want to leave it running, I'm totally new to it, but it's saying I'm tracking to get around $11 a day.

I have a lot of reading to do on it. I'm going to try that.

Get a remote desktop app for your phone like the one for google chrome (the app is made by google themselves) so you can change things up if need be, reboot or fix any other issue that might arise.

Getting home from an extended stay away only to find out you were mining for 10 minutes of said time would suck :)

I put a small fan close to the cards. That brought them down to 75c and 68c.

This fan is small enough to not be a nuisance. Is 75c low enough to leave running all the time?

Also with it in the open air, what's the best way to keep it clean? How often should I stop it and clear out the dust?
