why is my pc stuttering?

ok so my pc stutters really hard to the point where games just aren't playable, well, they are you just have to play them for a long time, but when I first hop into a game such as overwatch, I get around 3 fps and then shoot back up to 120 and then back down for about a 4 minutes and then it will get to a more constant fps but with stutters here and there, this doesn't happen for league of legends, street fighter 5, rainbow 6 siege and warframe

the stuttering happens for games like, overwatch, world of Warcraft, black desert online , etc.

my system has a

gtx 1050 ti

4 gb of ram

g4560

240 ssd- doesn't fix stuttering for games down loaded on here

500 gb hdd

asrock-b250 m motherboard

and a zalman case

here is my performance while playing while stuttering

(keep in note that my memory drops really low while this happens but I don't know what this means

plz help ive been trying to solve this problem for 2 weeks now :(

it's most probably a combination of your CPU and RAM. For 60 fps, Overwatch recommends a 4 core cpu with 6 gb of system RAM. It makes sense when looking at those graphs, seeing how your CPU spikes to 100% usage. Do you have anything else running in the background while playing overwatch?

Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.9 Ghz  | Gigabyte AB350M Gaming 3 |  PaliT GTX 1050Ti  |  8gb Kingston HyperX Fury @ 2933 Mhz  |  Corsair CX550m  |  1 TB WD Blue HDD

Inside some old case I found lying around.

Most likely your CPU. I had some stuttering on my Pentium G3258 because it's a dual core.

Thanks for the graphs, I wish anyone asking for help would provide that much information in the 1st post.

Anyhow, it looks like power issues, might be GPU VRM overheating or hitting TDP limits, the MoBo's VRM is likely fine, but the PSU might be tripping on OCP or something...

Would've thought so, but GPU utilization follows CPU's, so it's not the CPU bottle-necking the GPU in the normal way...

would this make sense because my ram performance goes down when ever the actual stuttering happens... also if you look up videos on overwatch with 4 gb they don't get stuttering soo

It's RAM usage, not RAM performance.

In this scenario, usage drops and stuttering occurs because Windows detects low RAM availability, so it aggressively deletes some apps' (including the game) cache to give space, which means the game will have to load new data from the storage drive into the RAM. Not to mention doing so with reduced speeds since deleting stuff from RAM is also a work for it.

Overwatch isnt a demanding game after all so its result alone doesnt mean much.
