1000 to 2000 dollars! I should sell my 1070

Amd and nvidia talked and agree to price fixing. Since they are the duopoly, as long as both agree to set price exorbitant high then consumers will have no choice but to buy them. More profits for these greedy corporations and their share holders.

GPUs manufactures are selling all they can produce, but they will lose in the long run if gamers won't be able to buy their cards.
Miners have no brand loyalty and no long term upgrade plan. When it will not be profitable anymore, none of the miners will buy another GPU in their life. On the other hand, gamer that wanted to buy, let's say Vega 56, but bought 1070 instead because of the pricing craze might go directly to Nvidia when time comes to upgrade.  Gamers will also buy additional components like G-sync monitors, games bundles and so on. 

 

Cards manufacturers could solve the problem easily - just lunch dedicated mining cards at a lower cost. Same GPUs but without I/O, Flashy designs, back plates, RGB LEDs, SLI/mGPU support, Games optimization software etc. Gamers won't buy them, miners won't buy the more expensive gaming cards.

AMD tried similar approach with the launch of Vega, but the offer wasn't attractive enough for gamers and they didn't offer another option for miners. I saw mining cards like that on ASUS site but could't find pricing or stock. 

 

But - They don't wants to make mining cards cause if tomorrow morning the mining craze dies they will be stuck with cards they cannot sell.

You are earning the money by using your PC to do work. You are consuming and paying for electricity - even if you're not paying for it, you are consuming energy(and someone has to pay for it anyway), and it's therefore not free. And again, if you don't have the hardware on hand, you have to pay for all that.

Jay from Jayztwocents had this to say, that this whole situation is making PC gaming become harder to even think of doing. Its ruining gaming in general, cause we can't play games cause of these problems.  Atleast memory is being worked on this year, especially with the Chinese government getting involved. That's a good sign for now.  But with GPUs being shot up like this, Its just not possible to be on pc anymore.  Here's the video he made on it.

The miners use their computers to check transactions so that one person does not hack the system and give themselves tons of bitcoin or something. As a result, you get rewarded with the cryptocurrency
