Trouble Updating OS X 10.13 in VirtualBox

alexc026

Hi I'm running the latest VirtualBox VM Manager and used this guide to run OS X as a VM: https://www.pcsteps.com/2157-mac-os-x-virtual-machine-vmware-player/

I've successfully installed OS X 10.13 High Sierra but when I try updating it using the App Store to update to 10.13.2 it doesn't work

It downloads it asks me to restart. I click restart. It goes to installing update screen and brings me back to login. When I login it immediately opens the App Store and prompts me to update to 10.13.2 even though I just ran the update

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You

That's because it's not supposed to work. Running MacOS in a VM (on non-apple hardware) is against Apple's TOS, and we can't help you here because of the Community Standards. Sorry, otherwise I'd be able to help.

Technically virtual box can be ran on Genuine Apple Hardware. This does not count as Hackintoshing. The person who started this topic didn't mention what the host operating system is.

Locked.

As mentioned above, this unfortunately falls under our hackitosh Community Standards section.

We can't help here but I'm sure there are other sources that can be of help.
