I recently bought a new pc case (Cooler Master MasterCase H500P) and it came with two RGB fans but my motherbaord doesnt have a rgb header.

Is there any way I can still use the RGB feature without having a RGB header or buying a RGB controller?

They use the standard SMD5050 LED controllers so you can use regular RGB LED controllers that use a remote control.

No there is no way to control and vary through different effects without a controller.

Not really, it's doable but only if you have some resistors, experience with wiring and a lot of patience.

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

Yes, go on YouTube and do a little research.  DIY perks did a video on setting up simple rgb controls (rgb lamp)

Yes you can but you will need to know how to wire it up and make your own cables. For the cost of a controller from eBay or Amazon which is usually <$5 I would say it's not worth the effort than to just buy one.

I have a rgb strip (not a pc one) that is broken and I have the controller for it which still works can I use that? I just have to plug it in a separate outlet plug

Can you provide a link or photo of the controller that you have on hand? If you want to power it via your PC all you need is a molex to barrel adapter.

That's just a splitter to let you connect multiple RGB devices together, you still lack the controller itself that it attaches to which does the colors and modes.

No they aren't compatible with these fans those all use proprietary systems where the Coolermaster ones use the common RGB SMD5050 type standard. It must be one of those controllers such as ones from these premade plug and go solutions.

Hi I just wanted update you.

I took the controller from a old led strip I had and the power source was a barrel so I cut a little before the barrel and I exposed the wires and I found a random molex connector in my psu box and I did a extremely ghetto job of connecting the wires (I twisted them together and put tape so the other wires dont touch and cause anything bad.

But now it works perfectly when I start up and I can change the colors with the remote I routed the IR sensor from the controller to a hidden to the eye but visible through the case window place and it works.

I forgot to take pictures sorry
