Choosing New PSU NZXT or OCZ ?

Raider102002

Hi everyone i been upgrading my PC for little under a year now and have couple of things left to upgrade and have chosen to upgrade my PSU next.

I currently have a Rosewill RV2-700 700W which works fine but isn't even bronze certified

Okay been looking around and was hoping to find a white PSU to match my Corsair 600t White ed, would like it to be at least semi modular and gold or above certified

So i found two PSU that seems to meet my requirements

  1. NZXT HALE90-750-M
  2. PC Power and Cooling (OCZ) PPCMK3S750

My questions would be is one brand better than the other

Is 750w enough for my needs system specs

  • P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3
  • i5-3570k @ 4.2ghz 1.2v
  • CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB Blue
  • Currently have 1 SSD 2 HDD, but will get one more SSD and possibly one more HDD
  • 7950 XFX FX-795A-TDFC ( may Crossfire )
  • Scythe Fan Controller
  • Cooler Master Hyper 212 ( will be upgrading to H220)

I am leaning towards NZXT in OCZ has a 24pin, 8pin cpu supplemental and a 4+4 pin permanently attached

I know reasoning isn't strong but since 7950 uses 3+3 pin think would look cleaner to have it that way than put in a 4+4 and have 2 pins out.

If that makes sense

So to sum it up

  • Is one brand better?
  • Is 750w enough?
  • Is there any other white 750w~ PSU?

Thank You in advance :o

750w should be fine for what you need (even if your going crossfire 7950's) (you can calculate it yourself here: http://www.extreme.outervision.com/PSUEngine)

Brand wise: Pretty much the same specs apart from ocz giving you 7 years and nzxt 5 years. also the nzxt fan is in white (while ocz the fan is black).

Thermaltake also has a white psu

I'd rather go with the NZXT is those are your only choices. OCZ has some funny reputation all over the board. especially considering PSUs =P

Maybe check Antec, Seasonic, XFX [Made by seasonic] and Cooler Master for white ones [or just paint it yourself =P].

The two units are internally identical, being based off the Superflower Golden Green. Unless you have a specific preference in terms of cables or aesthetics, I'd just go with whichever cheaper.

Yeah aesthetics wise it would be NZXT in that doesn't have a pre-attached 4+4 pin and as flamewalker mention didn't noticed NZXT has a white fan too.

As for price they will run me about the same 150~
