Reinstalling a laptop without a password

Hello you all

I have a friend that want's to reset her pc. But she forgot the password. I was looking it up online but it wasn't clear to me if you restart the pc while pressing shift and click on reset when he turns back on. If windows will be wiped too.

If you don't care about the data on the computer, download windows 10 iso, make a USB bootable, boot from USB and install Windows 10.

but I need to buy a windows key?

Windows should automatically activate Windows 10 after you install if you install the correct version

Or because Windows security. Get into the Advancedd Startup (shift click restart) and go to advanced. You cannot REFRESH, but RESTTING, without a password is possible...Cause Windows security. Or if it's synced with a Microsoft account reset it therr

Find the DART version you need and use it to change the admin password. No resetting or refreshing required.

I would recomend you boot from a Hiren's usb stick (http://www.hirensbootcd.org/), access Ophcrack and wipe the password from the account. If thats the reason for  reseting the pc thats much more of an easy solution.
