dvi port not working DVI port not working

So I bought A Gigabyte GT-1030 OC GPU I wanted to do a dual monitor setup, I have old monitors that use VGA only so I bought a DVI to VGA adapter and plugged it in, there was no signal on the monitor, the HDMI port works fine but the DVI port doesn't work at all, I tried to connect the pc to a modern TV using a DVI to HDMI cable because the tv didn't have a DVI input

what do I do to fix it?

I would recommend contacting gigabyte and ask for another one because this one seems to be faulty from what you are saying. Only do this is you are certain that its not the cable or adapter that is faulty.

I didn't buy it online from Gigabyte, can I still ask them for a new one?

I would first ask the place you bought it from personally.

I bought it from a computer shop that sold AMD and Nvidia GPU, the shop isn't like a gigabyte shop

That really doesn't matter but it is much more likely that the adapter or the cable is faulty I would check them first
