What do you think of widescreen 1440p monitors

Hunlight

Hello,
First of all some info:
Now Im using benq gl2460 (and Im ALMOST happy, started to feel that its not enough)
gpu: gtx 1070
Games pref: Witcher 3, Dark souls 3, Destiny 2, Starcraft 2 and Diablo 2 (just some reference what I could go play on a new display.

So now Im choosing from:
LG 34UM88C (570 eur here) - why? Its 1440p (never tried it but after some research and some videos of Witcher 3 ZOOM comparison found out that its pretty much a nice thing to have), better PPI, overall good reviews on net.

&

LG 34UC79G (570 eur~ here) -why? 144Hz never tried it but also a nice thing to have much smoother picture. its 1080p (little bigger but almost) so with my gtx 1070 I can handle those 144 or at least 100+ in the games it supposed to be like that.

So what u guys suggest go with 144Hz but 1080p, or 60Hz but 1440p (overall its same thing coz not I would have 144 fps in Witcher 3, nor stable 60 on 1440p I think mby if lower graphics)

Thanks for all answers!

budget 500-600max better if less.

Do both 1440p 144Hz but 16:9 instead of 21:9.

AOC AG271QG

The LG 1080p 21:9 144Hz is too big for 1080p, very low PPI.

Ultrawides or nothing.

Seriously though my LG 29UM69-G is cheap, has one of the best IPS Matte panels I have ever seen, it looks sharp and nice, 2560x1080p is a great resolution for 29inches. 21:9 is lots more superior than 16:9 whoever tries it always ends up "marrying" to it.

100hz overclock... all win...

Ballin' 3440x1440 is a lovely resolution for games. Especially racing imo.

Get yourself a cheap X34A or PG348Q if you want a 100Hz monitor. G-Sync is properly cool as well, although that's what really drives the cost up.

I'd personally keep saving for the cheapest 3440x1440p ultrawide you can afford, I know those can be super expensive in some countries if it is the case in Lithuania and you can't afford it I still high recommend the 29 inches 1080p ultrawide as out of personal experience it will be nicer than a common 2560x1440p60hz panel.

No of course not. They're the best UW 1440 monitors out.

Put budget in the OP. Otherwise some others who own same panel might go "buy this cos it's the best"

so as far as I understan u mean better go for this 3440x1440p 1440p than for LG 34UC79G with 144Hz and 1080p ?

I could swear that was 2560x1080p, I am so sorry for missreading, yes out of the given alternatives I'd go with the LG 34UM88C hands down.

the problem is selection in my country is jsut awful this one is far cheaper than any other second one is starting from 630 eur+

but really why would u suggest 1440p 60Hz over 1080p BUT 144Hz ?

Because the 1080p will look TERRIBLE at that size... 1440p is almost a must at 20” and above

That's an F in the profile pic
