Asus P348Q won't connect with HDMI

I've tried hooking it up to my laptop, and all it says when I turn it on, is 'Display Port not connected'

 

I'm receiving the parts for my PC in a couple of days, but i'd like to use the monitor until then, so any ideas?

You might have to change a settings with the monitor and tell it to take the imput from the HDMI and not from the Displayport

Not sure but play around with the OSD of the monitor

For some reason I thought you couldn't use the OSD without it being connected to a computer.. Thank you so much!
