It does, it's a mess out there.

 

In the first web you can clearly see the patent trolls, names in Light Grey, they patent, but never create anything. They just sue others that actually make usable tech.

It's hard enough to create something that becomes ubiquitous in the world without somehow getting close to another method that does it similarly.

I'd put them down as one, They're a non-practicing entity, that aggressively sues larger companies.They don't create products or services with their patents, they just license and sue. Heck they sued a lot of companies because they hold patents in wireless e-mailing.

why cant our phones have both facial and fingerprint? let the user pick..

 

 

+ face ID on the iPhone X is great for other things that can utilize 3D imaging/face models/animations/etc. idk may or may not be useful.

I'm thinking of getting the S9+. Does the S8+ still have that Touchwiz lag and stutter? I hope not.

This will be nice, will feel more authentic on the display. Though I also wouldn't mind it on the side on power button like Sony Xperia haves.

It does but it should be fixed with the Oreo update. Samsung fixed it in the Note8's software (more specifically Samsung Experience 8.5) which won't come to the S8. Instead they both get upgraded to Oreo and Samsung Experience 9.

 

An eventual S9 should not have lag. Of course it's possible that Samsung will regress when moving to Oreo but keep an eye on XDA by the time we get there. They're the only ones with the balls to call out Samsung and the only ones who test these things.

outside of google advertising it when they announced it as a feature in jelly bean and one plus simply because "that's something apple has that we must have now", who as ever advertise face recognition in the last 4 years?

second: for how much i think face recognition is a shit solution compared to a fingerprint scanner and hat i would rather have this underglass fps than facials even if i prefer my fps on the back of the phone where it belongs, faceID does more than the face recognition google introduced back then

Actually Face ID is much faster IMO. It does mess up more but that's like 3 times a week over 2 times with touch ID. But it is much faster as it's already unlocked before you even bring it in front of you
