VLEDs for car headlight replacements?

Has anyone purchased any of these before? They seem great but I was hoping to see if anyone here had purchased/used them and could attest to them one way or the other, debating these as a Christmas gift for my dad and might even snag a set myself. I know this isn't a car forum hence the "off topic" but I figured I'd ask..
