new monitor, XB271HU vs. PG279Q

McHox

looking to buy a new monitor when the money is available, most likely q1 2018.
also i'll definitely keep my eyes on ces, lets hope we get something good.

basically my problem is that i heard the same issues for both of the monitors and my question is if the backlight bleeding is still an issue or if they got it under control now.
right now i'd go with the pg279q,price wise they're the same for me.
anything i should know about them?

they use the same panel, only the case and the stand is different on them so pick the cheaper one or the one you think looks best...they are the same thing.

About backlight bleed...i have a HB270HU IPS gaming monitor from Acer and it does have some backlight bleed especially in the lower right corner but this is a non issue because it's only apparent when the monitor is displaying only black content so other than in some loading screens in some games you never see it...i wouldnt worry about it too much, and if the monitor you get is really bad you can still return it but, yeah, mine has some and it doesnt botter me one bit.

I think they all have some, but when you'll see how beautiful they are, how amazing the colors are, and you'll be blown away by the performance, and Gsync...you'll love it i'm sure.

they're the same panel... just the aesthetics are different. personally, i prefer the look of the PG279Q with the ROG logo on the base stand.
