Intel Whiskey Lake(This is not a joke!)

Another day, another Intel Lake!  "Thanks to a new leak from noted leaker "chrisdar," Intel is planning to launch a new processor by the name Whiskey Lake to succeed the Kaby Lake Refresh processor for mass-market notebook PCs sometime in the second half of 2018." Intel seems to be failing miserably when it comes to delivering on the 10nm. process. Cannonlake was intended to be released in 2016 right after the release of Skylake in 2015. This is yet another Cannonlake setback. So far Intel has used the 14nm. process on Broadwell, Skylake, Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake, and now Whiskey Lake and soon to be Cascade Lake. These delays and naming schemes are getting out of control!

Well it exists but isn't in the US (it's in British Columbia) so maybe but who knows, I still like cannon lake best since it sounds like a lake full of cannons

Yeah if Ryzen 2 is clocked faster and has more cores intel is gonna be in a world of hurt

It's a replacement in the mobile processor space for those Kaby Lake Refresh parts, which we're still not quite sure why they exist. It's probably for a specific vendor or space and exists actually because they weren't ready for an update that the Kaby Lake Refresh parts took. It's a Coffee Lake part with maybe might updates on something.

 

Intel is on the "Lake" naming until they get to the new x86 uArch in 2020/2021. It's currently called "Sapphire Rapids". Yup, we're going to names of Rapids next.
