Building a budget PC for a friend

Hey guys,

I trying to put together a parts list for a friend. His budget is £440/€500/$590. I'm finding this pretty difficult since I'm used to working with a higher budget. I also don't have a lot of time to research each individual part so if you now any good ones, let me know. Looks aren't a problem since there's no side panel window. It's going to be a gaming only PC with some schoolwork. I'm going for performance but features are also nice. Right now, he plays on an xbox one. This is what I have so far:

Thanks so much

120GB SSD for boot and you are gold I feel. Maybe switch the PSU for something Semi-Modular (though I'm guessing it blacked out means you already have that) to reduce cable clutter the case doesn't look like it has much back panel room for the cables.

You could buy a much smaller case, so the computer is not giant. I have a sharkoon c10 and it is a tiny case, your parts should fit in it nicely.

It's kind of pointless to put multiple currencies, as pricing for components isn't universal. When doing builds always make the budget in the currency you'll be buying in, otherwise you'll just get a bunch of useless lists.

Do you already have the PSU and CPU?

You put in manual prices for them?

Don't get that PSU, then. Something like the Pure Power 10 400W or CX/M 450W are actually decent units, for around £40-50.

They do, they just don't have a seller beside them which usually means they're already acquired.

To be perfectly honest with you, with a budget like that you should be looking at buying used.

Yes. 300W would be plenty. With a decent 450W unit, you could run a 1080

isn't ryzen 3 a much better processer for only slightly more?

I will never will trust gigabyte again, 2 defective boards and a dead video card. Moreover, their RMA process is a joke. MSI and asrock are good companies. Up to you though.

This always worked for me for choosing a psu. Cooler Maser Power Supply Calculator

Do NOT cheap out on the psu.

I know, don't know why you're using the G4560 it's an old socket and intel changes their sockets more than my underwear. AM4 will stay here for a while, so upgrade choices down the road. You'll stick him with 6-7 gen intel chips.

If anyone else wants to chime in, for or even against me.

I've come up with this: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/hqgRLD

The Pure Power 10 400W is a completely different unit from the 350W. Looking at the prices on PCPP, the CX450M looks like it's the best value for around that price
