replacing stock cooler

TechguyES

First of all I would like to know if you should replace your thermal paste every so often?

2nd I want to replace my stock Intel cooler for something like a be quiet BK008 or 9 or a 212, but will they fit in the corsair spec-02? I checked the dimensions, but I want to see if no one else had any compatibility issues, ATX mobo.

3rd which cooler would you recommend under like 35 euros, yes i only have a 6500 but It seems the fan's starting to run faster these past few weeks.

Main reason I want an after market cooler is noise level. I want it to be silent yet effective, so I was thinking a bk008.

Please tell me about your experience with these coolers, Thanks in advance.

1. If you are using quality paste, not so often. Manufacturer say my NT-1 is good for 3+ years. General rule is that you change if temps are unusual high.

2. & 3. Pure Rock Slim will be fine for you. You aren't going to OC and only need something less noisy. Case supports 157mm tall coolers, PRS is 125mm.
