A lot of places around here, truck stops...menards for some reason, will take a page from their latest sales flyer and put it above the urinals. 

It bothers me a lot and I don't know why. I step close to the urinal, I unzip my pants, whip it out, back up a little, look up and BAM

There's an add 13 inches from my face.

Instead of taping it to the wall. They should be some type of shelfing in the stalls and have the sales ads there. I like to have some reading material when I take a mass dump.

I've seen similar Urinals like these at casinos around Vegas for a while. The 'M' casino has a bathroom with a section of 3 Urinals with Tv's mounted to the wall. Usually playing news, but commercials arE ADs lol. Its kinda odd since the screen 1 foot inches from your face and bright.

Am I the only one who has seen people peeing at the urinal with one hand, while using the other hand to watch videos on their smartphone? 

 

And personally, I always use the cubicles. Unless they start putting monitors at the back of the restroom stall doors...

Funny this topic just came up. I'd never heard of such a nutty thing when I had to use the Johns at Zurich Main Station Sunday evening. NOT ONLY did I have to pay 1 Fr. for the pleasure. (Hey, that's normal here. It's Switzerland, where money grows in cow pastures). I ALSO had to watch an endless add loop while I did what I had to do. Not amused.

Having TVs in washrooms were a thing almost a decade ago. Aberdeen Centre, a mall in Vancouver that was opened back in 2003 had small TVs installed above the urinals. They were been taken down within a few years.
