Chrome 63 will use even more RAM to "protect" you

I would assume this would bring better CSRF and XSS protection, which is absolutely worth the extra memory usage. Chrome's RAM usage is exaggerated, it's way better than it used to be.

Total ram usage 33gb. And yes, uptime is 44 days :D

Fxxk.after ram price increase and ram requirement for chrome increase as well.

Oh well I will use firefox then.much faster in streaming anime.

I personally didnt know about the protection and stability system chrome uses. That sounds clever and I am a fan. 

 

With my 16GB of ram i do not worry about the higher ram usage.

Chrome want to use more ram to "protect" us? Well that does make sense cause when Chrome hogs all of the ram, there won't be any left for the malware to use and execute, therefore I approve Chrome to use as much ram as possible. The more the better.

It also needs to hog all of the cache on the CPU and vRam ;) While we're at it, as all the user does is use the browser, lets consume all of the storage too. ?

When looking at a website, many will focus on one section and then focus on another section. Chrome should also hog the monitor pixels and give us a viewing window, about the size of a postage stamp.

Say for example right now, I have 14 Tabs open in Firefox and it's using 2.3GB RAM.

Yeah Ive always thought this. the users typically Complaining about high ram usage really are only complaining because they just have high usage Shit goes hand in hand.  if you have 10 videos up 3 music sites and 72 other tabs of course your going to max 8gb.... 

 

20 Tabs is really no problem for people who use 8gb.

got a high end pc (8700k 1080ti) and im shamelessly using Edge, its better in every update.

 

now you can choose where to save downloads and can resize videos, not to mention you can open a file without having the need to download it permanently, very useful for drivers and stuff you just need one time

I hate to be one of those people.. But my desktop got plenty of RAM now to run Chrome.

32 tabs open, almost 4GB of RAM. Of course one website might use more memory than another, but I think this is not a weird amount of memory for what I do.
