DNS Servers

Jason1232

Hi, i know this is only loosly networking but i couldn't figure any other place to put it.

Lets say i have a domain with GoDaddy, and i want to use godaddy name servers, but i also have to use a certain companys name servers to point url to webserver... could i use multiple nameservers?

Like:

NS1.GODADDY

NS2.GODADDY

NS1.WEBHOST

NS2.WEBHOST

would that work?

You would have to setup your own dns server in which you decide what goes where in essence.

You should't need to change anything, the current configured DNS server will resolve a godaddy domain. The only time it wouldn't is if the DNS server you are using is blocked from getting results from an upstream DNS server which is very uncommon.

If the current DNS server doesn't resolve external domain names just enter a secondary DNS server on your computer.
