I don't know what i want for christmas

Hello,

My mum is constantly asking me what i want for christmas because she has no idea what i want but neither do i.

I pretty much have everything i want/need because i recently made a lot of money repairing phones and laptops for the neighbours. i dont need a new phone, dont need a new pc, dont need a new console, dont need any more clothes. I cant think of a single thing that i might want or need. This is becoming very frustrating for me and my parents.

I am a tech enthusiast (i tend to be more attracted to the hardware side of things, not software so some subscription to a coding course wouldnt be my sort of thing)

Things keep popping into my head like raspberry pi, switch, ifixit kit.

I just dont know though lol.

please suggest some stuff that i could ask for. thanks.

Well if you are happy with everything you have and don't need more, why not donate to charity or research?

I would ask for a savings account with some money, that'll be a better present than whatever consumable you would get otherwise

I did ask for that but my mum said that this year i am getting actual presents not money.

IFixit kit always comes in handy, start a new hobby whatever;) get a drone or good camera if you are interested in.

Though I personally would search for sth that would improve my day to day workflow such as the big ifixit kit or sth like that

If i were you i would personally go with a switch. I would suggest saving the money but since you have to get a actual present a switch doesn’t seem that bad in my eyes

as untactful as it may be, at your point I'd just ask for some flat money. I can then spend it on what I want, when I need it, rather than something that I might not use or feel grateful for.

 

I mean, in my family and extended family the majority of gifts tend to be cash now that the kids are all grown up. And even if we don't need it right then, we'll always need it at some point, and could always use some and be thankful for it.

Oculus rift? A good DSLR? I buy, build and sell PCs, laptops and components all the time, I am in the same situation as you, don't need anything else as I have what I want and a few thousand £ in the bank from that.

How old are you? If you're mid to late teens, how about asking for things you will need when you move out? You'd be surprised by how much stuff you need and what it ends up costing. Things like cutlery and cooking utensils are always nice and doesn't get outdated by sitting in a box for a few years.

This is probably your best option, moving out sucksssss and costs a lot. Think toward things you'll need tools, kitchen utensils, etc.
