Help with upgrading my pc

I have a store bought HP Omen desktop pc with the following specs

 

Intel i-5 7400

3gb DDR3 ram

gtx 1060 3gb

 

Would it be compatible with upgrades to the intel i7-7700k and 16 gb of ddr4 ram? The socket types for the cpus are both LGA 1151 so i should be good there, but will I need to upgrade power supply or heatsink?

For branded PC i suggest you find out if the pc have the model you like to upgrade.

If there's a model that support 7700k then it will be likely support the upgrade.

it will not support DDR4, as your system used DDR3, different generation, you coud upgrade to 2x8gb DDR3.

but you may be mistaken, please recheck, the omen should use ddr4 not ddr3.

no need to upgrade heatsink or power supply. the cpu draws similar power (under 100 watts).

Model number is 870-224, I made a mistake in the post and i have 8gb of ddr3 ram, but i read somewhere on the website that it could in fact use either ddr3 or ddr4 ram
